A drug bust earlier this week led to the arrest of a Pottsville man and the seizure of methamphetamine.

On Wednesday, September 30th, 2020, Schuylkill County Detectives and local law enforcement arraigned a controlled buy with Hugo Noel, 31, of 509 Howard Avenue, Pottsville to deliver methamphetamine to Minersville.

Surveillance was established and while Noel was in route as a passenger in a vehicle to deliver the methamphetamine, authorities created a road block on the Pottsville-Minersville Highway and stopped Noel.

Both the driver and Noel were removed from the vehicle and taken into custody and transported to the Minersville Police station.

At the station, Noel was found to be in possession of a glassine baggie containing 29.04 grams of crystalline substance suspected of being methamphetamine in his right sock and $480.00 in cash.

While being interviewed, Noel admitted to there being more controlled substances at his home in Pottsville and he provided a written consent allowing the search.

Later Wednesday, officers searched the home on Howard Avenue in Pottsville and found a large gray plastic shopping bag with a large clear glassine bag containing approximately 220.53 grams of suspected methamphetamine under a pool table.

Upstairs, a black mesh bag containing 6 smaller glassine baggies containing a combine total of 22.84 grams of suspected methamphetamine.

A field test of substance tested positive as methamphetamine.

Noel was arraigned by Magisterial District Judge James Reiley on charges of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, criminal use of a communication facility, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Judge Reiley set bail at $50,000 straight cash and Noel was locked up in Schuylkill County Prison.  Later on Wednesday, Noel posted bail and was released.

Assisting law enforcement agencies in the bust included officers from the Pottsville Police Department, Shenandoah Police, Schuylkill County Adult Probation, and Agents from the Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General Bureau of Narcotics Investigation.

High School, and a proud cheerleader for the only known PA H.S. football team that can lay claim to being unbeaten, untied, and unscored upon after a 10 game season. She is survived by her sons John Kubeika, VIII and wife Colleen of Enola, PA, and William Kubeika of Shenandoah, PA; two grandchildren, Candice Bruner and husband Adam of Enola, PA and John Kubeika, IX and wife Julie of Winchester, VA; five grandchildren, Emerson, Madison, Eleni, John, X and Audrey; and by a brother, Thomas Burns, Downingtown, PA.
