Charles "Butch" Stencovage, Jr., age 72, of Port Carbon, PA passed away Friday, December 18th, 2015 at the Shenandoah Manor Nursing Home.
Born in Pottsville, PA on March 12, 1943, he was the son of the late Charles and Helen (Trubilla) Stencovage Sr.
Butch was a graduate of Saint Clair High School, Class of 1960. He served in the US Air force as a A3C from 1960-1964. Butch first worked for the former Detroiter Mobile Home in Schuylkill Haven and then as a press operator for the United Metal Receptacle and now Rubber Maid Corp in Pottsville for 35 years until retiring in 2008.
Butch was a member of the St. Michael's Russian Orthodox Church in Saint Clair. He was a coach for the Port Carbon Biddy Basketball League and he was a diehard Philadlephia sports fan and Penn State fan.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant son Kevin C. Stencovage in 1962.
Butch is survived by his wife of 55 years, Carol J. (Miske) Stencovage, Port Carbon; 2 sons: Kyle J. Stencovage and his wife Christina, Bethlehem, PA; and Kory C. Stencovage, Port Carbon, PA; a daughter Kandy R. Keitsock and her husband Jamie, Port Carbon, PA; 7 grandchildren: Kody, Lily, Kollin, Leigha, Maggie, Luke, and Kaden Charles; 2 sisters: Helen Henry and her husband Charles, Wernersville, PA; and Patricia Rawlings, Chambersburg, PA; brother John Stencovage and his wife Sharon, Schuylkill Haven, PA; and aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
A Graveside Service and interment with Military Honors will be held at the Indiantown Gap National Cemetery in Annville, PA at 11:30AM on Tuesday, December 22nd.
Relatives and Friends are invited to a viewing on Tuesday morning from 8-10AM at Robert A. Evans Jr. Funeral Home, 208 Pike St., Port Carbon.
