Schuylkill County Obituaries for 12/18/15

Dianne L. Ontiveros, 62, of Tamaqua, Pennsylvania died on Tuesday, December 15, 2015 in Tamaqua. She was the wife of Luis G. Ontiveros of Coaldale, Pennsylvania.

Born on July 7, 1953 in Hazleton, Pennsylvania, Dianne was the daughter of Evelyn F. (nee Keich) Bass of Tamaqua and the late Lester W. Bass, Sr. who died in 1987. S

he is survived by her mother, Evelyn; daughter, Lisa Cartwright of Pottsville, Pennsylvania; son, Edward Eroh of Tamaqua; 6 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; brothers, Lester W. Bass, Jr. and his wife Margarita of Palmerton, Pennsylvania, Gary G. Bass and his wife Honey of Oley, Pennsylvania and David A. Bass and his wife, Vicki of Syracuse, New York; and several nephews and nieces. 

A memorial service will be held a 11:00 AM on Saturday, December 19, 2015 at the Zizelmann-Roche Funeral Home, 500 East Broad Street, Tamaqua with The Rev. Dr. David W. Grant, Pastor Emeritus officiating. Interment in Odd Fellows Cemetery, 503 West Broad Street, Tamaqua will follow the service. Memorial contributions in Dianne's name may be made to the Hillside SPCA, 51 SPCA Road, PO Box 233, Pottsville, PA 17901 OR the American Diabetes Association, PO Box 11454, Alexandria, VA 22312.

Larry J. "Fuzzer" James Jr., age 65, of Pottsville, PA passed away Tuesday, December 15th, 2015 at his home.

Born in Pottsville, PA on December 29, 1949, he was the son of the late Lawrence and Doris (Cappella) James.

Larry attended Pottsville High School. He was employed at the Beer and Burger in Pottsville, he was a member of the former Mary Queen of Peace Church in Pottsville and a member of the East End Pool Team in Palo Alto. Larry formed the James Gang Softball Team and he was an avid N.Y. Yankee fan.

He loved being with and spending time with his grandchildren, who were his pride and joy.

In addition to his parents, Fuzzer was preceded in death by his brother Leo A. "Tippy" James in 2013.

Fuzzer is survived by his best friend and son Larry James III, Pottsville; 2 daughters: Melissa Horning, Port Carbon and Jodi Evans, Pottsville; 2 sisters: Bonnie Bowen, Schuylkill Haven and Kathleen Gaumer, St. Clair;

4 grandchildren: Taylor Horning, Derek James, and Molly and Sam Freiler, all of Pottsville; life long friend, Donna Evans, Pottsville; and nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church in Pottsville at 10AM on Monday, December 21st.

Relatives and Friends are invited to a viewing on Sunday evening from 7-9PM and Monday morning from 8:30-9:30AM at Robert A. Evans Jr. Funeral Home, 208 Pike Street, Port Carbon.

Interment will be held in the Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery in Hillside, Pottsville.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to ALS Association Greater Philadelphia Chapter, 321 Norristown Road, Suite 260 Ambler, PA 19002.
