Carrie L. Houser, 100, of Centre St., Ashland, passed away Monday morning, November 16th, surrounded by her family, at her residence. Born in Ringtown, August 16, 1915, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Daisy Mummy Gilbert. She attended Ringtown Schools, and was employed as a housekeeper for the former Ashland State General Hospital, Fountain Springs, until her retirement.
Carrie was the oldest member of Christ’s United Lutheran Church, Airport Road, Ashland.
Preceding her in death was her husband, John Houser, passing in February 16, 1989, a sister, Bessie Davidson, brothers, John and Guy Gilbert, and a great grandson, Seth Houser in 2009.

Son: Jackie R. Houser, Ashland
Son: James Houser and his wife Mary, Ashland
Brother: Thomas "Tommy" Gilbert, Mahanoy City
Grandchildren: James Houser Jr. and Tara Houser, both of Ashland
Great Grandchildren: James Houser III, Amanda Weisbeck, Becky Houser, Alison Houser, Katelyn Houser, and Andrew John Charriez
Nieces and Nephews
Friends and Relatives are invited to attend a funeral service, Friday, 10 AM in Christ’s United Lutheran Church, Ashland. Officiating will be Rev. Dr. Kim L. Lengert, pastor. Interment will follow in St. John’s Cemetery, Ringtown. Viewing hours at the church will be held Thursday, 6 PM to 8 PM, and Friday, 9 AM until service.
