Update on Interstate 81 Road Project near Frackville

PennDOT has provided an update to the Interstate 81 Paving Project near Frackville.

BETWEEN: Exit 124 (PA 61) AND Exit 131 (Mahanoy City)

Work being Done By: PENNDOT Contractor
Type of Restriction: 24hours
RESTRICTION: Starting at 6:00 AM on Monday May 1, Interstate 81 north will be reduced to a single lane through 6:00 AM on Friday, and is anticipated to be reduced to a single lane from 6:00 AM on Mondays through 6:00 AM on Fridays for the duration of the project.

Then beginning May 30 through the end of the project, I-81 south will also be reduced to a single lane from 6:00 PM on Mondays through 6:00 AM on Fridays.

This is part of the ongoing Interstate 81 Paving Project. Work on this section of I-81 includes milling, paving, and placing new line paint on the section of I-81. The project also includes milling and paving the interchange ramps at Exit 124 (PA 61). Updates will be provided whenever traffic patterns change.

H&K Group, Inc. of Skippack, Pa. is the general contractor on the $10,993,381 project. Work is expected to be complete in July 2018.
