Evelyn F. (Kistler) Geiger, age 85, of East Railroad Street New Ringgold, Pennsylvania passed away on Monday, October 12, 2015, at Reading Hospital, Reading, Pennsylvania.

The widow of Eugene C. Geiger who passed on February 16, 1996.

Evelyn, had worked as a presser for New Ringgold Mills from 1946 to 1984, and then worked as a cafeteria aide for the Blue Mountain School District.

A member of Zion United Methodist Church of New Ringgold, and the New Ringgold Fire Company Auxiliary, Evelyn was also active in the Orwigsburg V.F.W. Post #2198, and Orwigsburg Legion Post #369.

Born in Hecla on December 28, 1929, she was the daughter of the late William E. Kistler and the late Mammie (Haas) Kistler.

She is survived by her

Daughter, Dolores J. Arndt wife of Merrill of Hamburg;

Sons, Dennis G. Geiger and his wife Patti of Mohrsville, Kevin J. Geiger and his wife Teri of Deer Lake;

Sister, Marie Rubright of Ashland;

Brother, Arthur Kistler and his wife Gloria of Orwigsburg;

Five grandchildren, Kelly Blyler, Deidra Geiger, Justin Geiger, Jeffrey Arndt, and Jennifer Cross; Six great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by sisters, Mrs. Beatrice Belsak, Mrs. Myrtle Yerger, Mrs. Mildred Solary, Mrs. Dorothy Rolland; brothers, Norman, Willard, Chester, Harold, William "Chut" Kistler.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Robert S. Nester Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 2066 West Penn Pike, New Ringgold, PA.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday October 15, 2015 at 11 o'clock A.M. from Zion United Methodist Church, Keim Street New Ringgold, Pennsylvania 17960, Rev. David Botzer to officiate.

Friends shall be received in church from 10:00 A.M. until time of services.

Interment Schuylkill Memorial Park Schuylkill Haven, Pennsylvania.

Memorials in her name to the Church or Disabled American Veterans (Hazleton Chapter) 305 East Diamond Ave. American Legion Hazleton, Pennsylvania 18201.

Albert E. Bernosky, 82, of Shenandoah passed away on October 7, 2015 after a brief illness.

Albert enjoyed politics and community involvement was active for years as a committee man in Harrisburg, PA, where he and his wife raised their family. In 1966, he was the founder and also secretary/treasurer for Lithuanians for Shafer, supporting the successful GOP gubernatorial campaign Raymond P. Shafer. Mr. Bernosky returned to Shenandoah after retirement where he was employed for five years as Codes Enforcement Officer. He also served for two years on Shenandoah Borough Council and later, on the Board of the Municipal Authority of the Borough of Shenandoah.

A devout Catholic, Albert was a former member and Eucharistic Minister of Holy Family Catholic Church, Harrisburg, PA. He also was an active member of the Charismatic Renewal movement in Dauphin County in the 1980s. He was also a member of Divine Mercy Parish, Shenandoah, and was previously a member of St. Cecelia's Choir of St. Casimir's Church, which touched upon his Polish roots. He was devoted and prayed daily to Our Lady of Czestochowa and Our Lady of Medjugorje.

He served as Past Exalted Ruler, BPOElks Harrisburg Lodge #12 and was a member of the Grand Lodge BPOE.

A veteran, he served in the Merchant Marines and the US Navy, stationed in Naples, Italy during the Korean War. He was also stationed in Charleston and Beaufort, SC, and worked as an operating room technician from Beaufort's Naval Hospital, from where he was honorably discharged in 1957.

Albert had a deep love of his Lithuanian heritage! It was his first language and he enjoyed conversing in Lithuanian whenever he had the opportunity.

He enjoyed cooking and was renowned among family for his Cajun dishes.

Survived by his wife of 57 years, Bernardine Tacelosky Bernosky, Daughter Janet L. Bernosky of Chincoteague Island, Virginia, Son Steven J. Bernosky and wife Leanne, of Marlton, NJ, Granddaughters Kassia A. Bernosky, Marya E. Bernosky and fiancé Christopher Armentrout, all of Florida. Sisters-in-law Dolores Tacelosky, Agnes Thomas, and Joanne Yaroma and brother-in-law Edward Tacelosky. Nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by Father Michael Baranowski, mother Margaret Kalesinskas Bozis, and step-father Joseph Bozis, twin brother Michael Bernosky, in-laws Agnes and Edward Tacelosky, brothers-in-law Jack Thomas and Michael Yaroma, and his dog, Rufus.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM Saturday October 17, at St Casimir Church in Shenandoah with Rev. Francis Karwacki Officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home in Mahanoy City from 6 until 8 on Friday evening, and again from 9 Saturday morning when a eulogy will be given.

Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.

Doris M. Eiler, 77, of Pottsville went to meet the Lord Saturday morning.

Born October 2, 1938 in Pottsville, she was the daughter of the late Raymond J. Freiler, Sr. and the late Doris M. (Tierney) Freiler.

She was a graduate of Minersville High School and an active member of St. John the Baptist RC Church, Pottsville. She was last employed in the Pre-Sales Division of Alcoa.

In addition to her parents, Doris was preceded in death by her husband the late Francis S. Eiler.

She is survived by a son Brian L. Eiler and his wife LouAnne, Auburn; a daughter, Amber L. Misstishin, Pottsville; a brother Raymond J. “Joe” Freiler, Jr., Yucaipa, CA; grandchildren Grace K. Armstrong and her husband Peter J., Phoenixville; Claire M. Eiler, Phoenixville; and Kenneth S. Eiler, Denver CO; and several beloved nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 11AM at St. John the Baptist RC Church, Pottsville with Rev. David Loeper, Off. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. at the church. There will not be any calling hours Thursday evening. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel RC Cemetery, Minersville. In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer donations be made in Doris’ memory to St. John the Baptist RC Church. Schlitzer Allen Pugh Funeral Home 515 West Market Street Pottsville has been entrusted with arrangements.
