John M. Nicolas, 87, of Pottsville, died Thursday evening at Schuylkill Center Genesis Eldercare, Pottsville.
Born July 8, 1928 in Greece he was the son of the late John and Irene Nicolas.
He was self-employed as a cook. Most recently, he was the owner and operator of the former John’s Diner located on Route 209 in East Norwegian Township. He had previously owned and operated the former Garfield Diner, Pottsville.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife the former Sofia Angelidis.
He is survived by sons Stamos Nicholas, Franklin Lake, NJ and Mike Nicholas, Mahwah, NJ; six grandchildren; a sister; and a friend Faye Baranowsky, Schuylkill Haven.
Funeral Services will be held at noon on Monday at the Schlitzer Allen Pugh Funeral Home 515 West Market Street Pottsville. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects from 11AM until time of service. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family at Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery, Pottsville.
