Prudence C (Cathcart) Sommers, age 67, of E. Elm St.,Tamaqua, died Tuesday, September 29, 2015, at Good Shepherd Specialty House in Bethlehem, PA.
She was the widow of Thomas F. Sommers who passed away 1/20/2012.
Prudence was a member of SS. Peter & Paul R.C.C., St. John XXIII Parish, Tamaqua.
She was a Marian Catholic High School graduate and she had worked in the textile industry.
Prudence enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
Born October 18, 1947 in West Chester, Pa., she was the daughter of the late John Cathcart and the late Ann Cathcart.
She is survived by her
Daughter, Jacqueline (Trevorah) Murphy wife of Jack of Lake Hauto;
Sons, Thomas Sommers and his wife Alanna of Harrisburg; Brian Sommers and his wife Cathy of Maine; Gary Trevorah and his wife Janet of Austin, TX; Chad Sommers and his wife Michelle of Columbus, OH;
Sister, Anna Bergalis wife of George of Stewart, FL;
Brother, Thomas Cathcart and his wife Juliet of Ecuador;
Twelve Grandchildren
Five Great-Grandchildren.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the E. Franklin Griffiths Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 655 East Broad Street Tamaqua, Pa., where the family will receive friends from 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM, Saturday, October 3, 2015.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at SS. Peter & Paul RCC 307 Pine St., Tamaqua at 10:00 AM, Saturday, October 3, 2015, Reverend John Frink to officiate.

Robert K. Hafer, 82 of Schuylkill Haven, formerly of Pottsville died Tuesday at Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center.
He was born April 15, 1933 in Port Clinton son of the late Nathan and Carrie Sterner Hafer.
He was a graduate of Hamburg High School and attended the former Ford School of Business.
He was employed by Pepsi Co and Prudential Insurance, prior to retiring from Argo Mills as a truck driver. He was an Army veteran having served during the Korean War.
Bob was a member of Grace Evangelical Congregational Church, Schuylkill Haven, Schuylkill Haven Senior Citizen, American Legion, past president of JG Travelers, N.R.A. and a life member of Yorkville Hose Fire Co, Pottsville. He also served as deacon at the former 2nd Presbyterian Church, Pottsville and was an elder and trustee member of United Presbyterian Church, Pottsville. Bob was also a Little League Coach for Economy Supply.
Bob was the recipient of a new heart from an organ donor. His new heart gave him 27 years more with his family whom he cherished.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Irene Moyer. Surviving are his wife the former Connie O. Schoen with whom he celebrated 63 years of marriage on May 17; a son, Richard M. Hafer and his wife Jody, Pine Grove; a daughter Bobbi Semerod, Pottsville: 4 brothers, Harold Hafer and his wife Mary, Hamburg; Donald Hafer and his wife Mary, Pine Grove; Charles Hafer and his wife Ann, Hamburg; George Hafer, and his wife Carolyn, Port Clinton: 3 sisters, Joanne Donetti, and her husband Raymond, Port Clinton; Mary Fraunfelter and her husband Richard, Harrisburg; Georgine Roman and her husband Joe, FL: 5 grandchildren, Alison Goines and her husband Dave; Ricki Koch and her husband Warren, Brandon Semerod and his wife Stephanie, Scott Semerod and his wife Pastor Nina Patton-Semerod, and Jared Hafer and his wife Megan: Nieces and Nephews, and his cat Susie.
Services will be held Monday at 11:30 A.M. from Grace Evangelical Congregational Church, Schuylkill Haven, with the Pastor Ted Rathman officiating. Family and friends are invited to call from 10:30 A.M. until the time of services at the church. The family would prefer remembrances in the form of contributions made to Grace Evangelical Congregational Church, 15 Earl Stoyer Dr. Schuylkill Haven, PA 17972. Interment with military honors will follow at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville with Pastor Nina Patton-Semerod officiating.

Mary Eleanor Benner, 81, of 1025 Creek Road Pitman for the last 27 years and formerly of Hatboro, passed away Wednesday, September 30, 2015 at her home.
Mary was born in Philadelphia, PA on July 9, 1934, a daughter of the late Sigmuind and Mary (Cwikla) Strzelecki.
Mary graduated from Hatboro High School.
She attended Hepler's Church Of God in Pitman, PA
She enjoyed Baking, Cooking, and Crafts.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years Christian Benner they married November 14, 1955.
She is also survived by five children son, Christian, husband of Sheila Benner, Jr., of Quakertown, PA; daughters Bonnie, wife of Rodney Clemmer; Cathy, wife of Art Snyder; Debbie, wife of Richard Lowthert; Wendy, wife of Richard Steich, all of Pitman; one sister Helen Emerick; 12 Grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren She was preceded in death by a son, Lee Benner, an infant daughter Cindy Benner, and a brother, Zigmund Strzelecki.
Viewing will be held Saturday October 3, 2015 from 9-11 AM at Hepler's Church of God, Pitman, PA with the funeral service following at 11 AM with Rev. Nancy L. Boyer officiating.
Interment will follow at Hepler's Church of God Cemetery, Pitman, PA.
