Alvin C Jones, age 64, of Market Square, Pottsville, died Saturday, September 19, 2015, at Geisenger Medical Center, Danville.

He had worked in security.

Born in Ashland on May 29, 1951, he was the son of the late Daniel Jones and the late Jane (Konscler) Jones.

He is survived by his

Daughters, Melissa Jones of Kingston; Kimberly Jones of Mnersville; Martha Schaeffer of Lebanon; Jolene Witmer of Ravine;

Son, Alvin Jones of Pottsville;

Sisters, Barbara Nunemacher wife of Alvin of Pottsville; Dawn Slackus of Palo Alto;

Brothers, Frank Jones of Pottsville; George Slackus of St. Clair; Ralph Jones of St. Clair;

Ten Grandchildren

One Great-Grandchild.

Preceded in death by his sister, Eileen Becker.

Private Arrangements have been entrusted to the Robert S. Nester Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 2066 West Penn Pike, New Ringgold, PA.

Teresa Benyo, 86, formerly of Coaldale, Pennsylvania died on Monday, September 21, 2015. She was the wife of the late John Benyo who died in 2006. Born in Coaldale on August 14, 1929, Teresa was a daughter of the late George and Elizabeth (nee Lawrence) Firkal. A 1947 graduate of the former Coaldale High School, she had worked at the former Van Heusen garment factory in Coaldale. Teresa was a member of St. John the Baptist Byzantine Church, Lansford, Pennsylvania. She is survived by daughters, Diane Fries and her spouse, Attorney William Fries of Allentown, PA, Mary Shereba and her spouse, Alex of Coaldale, and Joanne Benyo and her spouse, Lu of Massachusetts; grandchildren, Christa Jones and her spouse, Dan, Matthew Shereba and his spouse, Katie, Kelly Stec and her spouse, Matthew, Jessica Corcoran and her spouse, Michael and Sarah O'Connor and her spouse, Sean; great grandchildren, Kylie, Kaden, Karter, Jack, Anna, Leah, Ella, Connor, and Reagan. Teresa was predeceased by brother, George Firkal and sisters, Marie Moran and Helen Guzenski. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in St. John the Baptist Byzantine Church Cemetery, Summit Hill, Pennsylvania. Memorials in her name may be made to St. John the Baptist Byzantine Church, 116 East Bertsch Street, Lansford, PA 18232. Arrangements are being handled by the Gulla Funeral Home, 130 East Ridge Street, Coaldale.
