Schuylkill County Obituaries for 09/18/15

John "Jack" Albert Yanchulis, 62, of Frackville passed away peacefully Thursday morning at home with his family.

He was born on January 21, 1953 at the former Locust Mountain State Hospital in Shenandoah Heights to John Albert Yanchulis Sr. and Jean Stinsky of Frackville.

He attended Shenandoah Catholic Schools and once pitched a no-hitter for Shen-Heights TV. He went on to attend Immaculate Heart Academy and Cardinal Brennan High School and the Penn State University. He was a member of Annunciation Church of St. Joseph Parish, Frackville.

On June 1st, 1973 he wed Marianne Prock and celebrated 41 years of marriage this past June. He had worked for St. Nicholas breaker in Mahanoy City and was a member and past president of UMWA local 7226. He was chairman of the Board of Supervisors in West Mahanoy Township. He later worked for SEIU and went on to complete his career with the Department of Labor and Industry, Bureau of Mediation until retiring on July 31, 2015.

In his free time he enjoyed Penn State football, was an avid fan of all Philadelphia sports teams and a NASCAR fan as well. Jack was a huge Jimmy Buffet fan aka a " Parrot Head ". John also enjoyed his cats Meiko, Matilda and Natty Boh.

In addition to his parents and wife Marianne he is survived by his two daughters; Danielle McGrath, Wormleysburg and Jaclyn Yanchulis, Frackville, his sister Joan Marie Yanchulis-Albino, Brooklyn NY, his three grandchildren; Justin Hopkins, Syracuse, NY, Will Hopkins, Wormleysburg and Haley Jones, Frackville, 1 granddog named Chloe and a grandcat named Steve.

As you can see from all of Jack's special interests we welcome you to attend his memorial service at 11 a.m. on Monday from the Thomas M. Sullivan Funeral Home, Frackville, with Rev. Robert T. Finlan officiating. Interment will be in Annunciation Cemetery, Englewood, Frackville. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 9 a.m. until time of service. Jack would like and appreciate " Buffet " attire ( Khaki's and Hawaiian shirts ) to put our " fins up " one last time with Jack.

In lieu of flowers, the family prefers contributions, in Jack's name, to either Hazleton Animal Shelter PO Box 481, Hazleton , PA 18201 or Blue Chip Farms Animal Refuge, 974 Lockville Rd., Dallas, PA 18612.

Fannie Kimmel, 84, of Hill Road, Hegins, passed away Sunday, September
13th, at the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville. Born in Foster Township,
July 18, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Alex and Anna Szczerba
Butsko. She attended Cass Township High School and was employed as a
presser for the former Van Heusen Shirt Company, Minersville. Her biggest
joy was devoting time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Fannie was a member of the Pattersonville Congregation of Jehovah’s
Witnesses.

Preceding her in death was her husband, Marvin Kimmel, July 16, 1998,

Brothers; Peter, Andrew, Paul, and John Butsko, also a sister Mary Butsko.

Survivors:

Son: David Kimmel and his wife Terri, Hegins

Brother: Harry Butsko, Duncannon

Brother: Metro Butsko, Hershey

Brother: Steven Butsko, Hershey

Sister: Katie (Tosh) Quick, Ashland

Grandchildren:

Lindsay, wife of Seth Schlegel, Dalmatia

Jeffrey, husband of Lindsay Kimmel, Douglassville

Marisa, wife of Timothy Jones, Reading

Great Grandchildren: Maya, Kimora, Kelsey, Zoey, Avery, and Mason

Friends and relatives are invited to attend a memorial service at 2PM,
Saturday September 19, 2015, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses,
Locust Street, Tremont. A calling hour will begin at 1 PM until service.
Private interment will be in St. Paul’s Cemetery, Sacramento. Visit
